Auerswald
In 1960, Harro Auerswald decided to take the plunge and start his own business. Soon he was well known as a supplier of electrical components and smart custom solutions. The two main ingredients in his lasting success were reliability and quality.
In 1980, his son Gerhard Auerswald took over as managing director of the business, which he has been running ever since. An ambitious telecommunications engineer, he was brimming with good ideas, so it didn't take Auerswald long to make a name for itself with consumer electronics products. Its first radio-controlled clock system was produced on an unprecedented scale.
Auerswald's next achievements followed in quick succession. In 1986, the company launched a home PBX that could be used with standard telephones. In 1990, Auerswald products were approved for use on the public telephone network, and the company launched its first small PBX – finally an interesting and affordable solution for homes and small businesses.
